Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio officially launched ‘MyGov Nagaland’ (nagaland.mygov.in) at Nagaland House, New Delhi on November 20.

With this, Nagaland became the 10th State join ‘MyGov’ - a citizen-centric platform empowering “people to connect with the Government & contribute towards good governance.”

The nine other states are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Tripura, and Jharkhand.

It was launched in the presence of Chief Secretary Temjen Toy, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Ajay Sawhney and CEO MyGov Abhishek Singh.

“This citizen engagement platform is an innovative way to build partnership between citizens and government; resulting in development and good governance,” Rio tweeted.

“Citizens can engage themselves in becoming MyGov volunteers, share ideas, experiences and suggestions through the website nagaland.mygov.in,” Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy also updated on Twitter.

When The Morung Express visited the platform on Wednesday, it was seeking, among others, inputs for promoting the use of Organic Farming and suggestions for making Nagaland an eco-tourism destination.

Another focused topic was to share ideas “about the improvement of Road Connectivity in Nagaland.”

While the citizens are also encouraged to become a MyGov Volunteer and work towards building a New Nagaland, a section also asked them to share a selfie or upload a video about Hornbill Festival, 2019.

According to MyGov website, the platform initiative was first launched on July 26, 2014 by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

It is aimed at bringing “the government closer to the common man by the use of online platform creating an interface for healthy exchange of ideas and views involving the common citizen and experts with the ultimate goal to contribute to the social and economic transformation of India,” it added.
