Gov to CM: Set up Lokayukta

Kohima, November 21 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has asked the Chief Minister to expedite the setting up of Lokayukta in Nagaland. In a letter to the CM, Acharya also expressed concern regarding problems of compensation payment for land acquisition for railway project in Dimapur, according to a press release from the Governor’s PRO. In this regard, he sought the CM’s immediate action for the payment of compensation. Meanwhile, he asked for the actions taken on the Proxy Teachers issue and corruption charges against Government employees. The Governor also told the CM to direct the departments concerned to improve the road conditions in the State. “Repair/maintenance/improvement of roads should be taken up on priority basis and the works to be completed without delay,” he stated. Further, Acharya expressed pleasure at the news of the President’s visit to inaugurate the Hornbill Festival 2017 on December 1 in Kisama.
