Government Higher Secondary School Niuland gets new building

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 1 (MExN): The new school building of Government Higher Secondary School, Niuland town was inaugurated by MLA 4 Ghaspani-I A/C, Jacob Zhimomi at a formal function organised to mark the occasion on Thursday.

Addressing a gathering of students, teachers, departmental officials, parents, leaders and elders, Jacob appreciated the department (RMSA) for its concern for development of schools while pointing out that infrastructural development is most needed for the school to progress.  

Jacob felt that sound and quality education is a fundamental requirement for a society to grow and thus infrastructural development for a proper education is much needed. On the role of parents and teachers to guide the students, the chief guest said parents and teachers who play an equal role should work side by side in order to achieve desired results from students.  

He also encouraged the students to develop a keen desire to learn and put their desire into practice through hard work while reminding that education cannot be acquired overnight.  

Meanwhile, Jacob lamented that proxy system of teachers is one serious issue that is confronting the education system of the state. He felt that this must be done away with as quality of education cannot be compromised at any cost.  

Special invitees, Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director, RMSA and R. Amongla Jamie, DDEO Dimapur also spoke on the occasion. A. Mughali Sema, principal and chairperson school building committee presented a brief report of the school. Pastor of Sumi Baptist Church, Niuland offered a prayer for new building dedication.
