Government: Please don’t discriminate

•-Is it because; we live in one of the remote rural areas or is it because; there is no funds for the people of Kiphire District for a fire station that controls fire based disasters. Kiphire has witnessed many commercial and residential houses that have been gutted down by fires causing huge loss of assets and properties in 2011. Despite of knowing the fact that this is an important issue, yet a department has not been installed and it seems some authorities do not understand the importance of the fire brigade being Kiphire town one of the populated areas and is also the district headquarters of Kiphire District. In fact I acknowledge the private water carriers, Tanker of DEF Kiphire, Assam rifles and the general public of Kiphire town, who despite lack of government facilities have been able to control such kind of fire outbreaks. Witnessing another fire outbreak on 7th September 2011 at 09:00 PM, has the fire services been installed; it could have saved from huge losses.
Is the government requires strong representations, appeals, agitations, bandhs, rallies etc…..…… for a fire station at Kiphire? Which is also one of the habitual activities in our society? I cannot deny that a kind of process is required by the government for approval but how long do we need to wait? The time when fire tenders reaches Kiphire, more fire outbreaks will occur which will cause huge losses and affects socio economic development.
Therefore, as a concern citizen, I appeal the Government and the concern department / authority to look into the matter as a serious developmental issue. Please don’t discriminate or neglect us, but help us to live a life better like those of others with such government facilities and services.
