Governor Acharya urges to respect all languages

Kohima, December 5 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has stressed on respecting all languages while emphasizing that “all languages are equal and our mother tongue is our identity.” He was addressing the felicitation programme of Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti at Durbar Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima on December 4.


“India is a democratic country and unity in diversity is the peculiarity of the country,” the Governor said and called on the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti to be the bridge in linking the people of the country through national language. He maintained that emotional and national integration should be the ultimate goal for the organization, according to a press release from PRO, Raj Bhavan.


Acharya also urged the delegates to visit Kisama and the Hornbill Festival to know about the culture, traditions and the people of Nagaland.


Congratulating all the toppers and students who cleared the exam, the Governor encouraged them to achieve greater heights. He also extended appreciation to the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti for holding the convocation programme for the first time in Nagaland.


Appreciating the work done by the Samiti to uplift the national language, Principal Secretary to the Governor, Piyush Goyal, IAS, welcomed all delegates to the capital. Goyal also acknowledged the keen interest taken by the Naga students in learning the language, the release said.


The programme was attended by members of the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti and students from various parts of the country.
