Kohima, December 7 (MExN): Nagaland Governor PB Acharya has called on educational institutions to provide more skill based courses.
The Governor was addressing a meeting with Vice Chancellors of Gauhati University, Nagaland University and Principals of Colleges at Raj Bhavan, Kohima on December 6, according to a press release from the Governor’s PRO.
“Universities should not only be the centre for academics but should also work for the development of the society as well,” Acharya stated during the meeting.
Underscoring the need for introducing more skill based courses, Governor Acharya suggested the Universities to indentify courses as per the requirement of the society. He further suggested that all 66 colleges under Nagaland University be entrusted to identify the courses and intimate the Governor’s Office by January 15, 2018.
Governor Acharya also asked the 66 affiliated colleges to identify at least two entrepreneurs especially women for availing MUDRA Loan.
