Governor graces NSBSG golden jubilee inaugural prog

Kohima, December 16 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland & Chief Patron, Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides, PB Acharya graced the inaugural programme of the NSBSG Golden Jubilee programme as the chief guest on December 15 at the State Training Centre, Nerhema.  

To the Scouts and Guides gathered, the Governor encouraged them to work for the welfare of the people. Governor stated that the knowledge gained through Bharat Scouts & Guides should not be self-centred and hoped that the trainings create confidence in them to work for the development of the State in their capacity. He also said that scouts & guides should be nodal agent to reach the various welfare programmes of the Central and State Government to the targeted group so that that they avail the benefit. He called on them to play their role in strengthening the society and the Nation.  

State Chief Commissioner, Atuo Mezhur in his welcome address gave a brief history of the Bharat Scouts & Guides movement and how it came into being in Nagaland. The programmes was chaired by Member, Organising Committee & Former State Chief Commissioner, Khyomo Lotha, Ex MP while State Secretary, Chubanungla proposed the vote of thanks. The Jubilee theme song was presented by Thejashilie and Mhasivonui Linyu.  

PRO to Governor in a press release stated that the Governor also took salute from the Contingents of all 11 district of Nagaland. He also released the Golden Jubilee souvenir. Governor Acharya also gave away awards and citations on various fields and achievements. The best District was awarded to Phek. The NSBSG also acknowledged the First Adhoc Committee Members on the occasion of the NSBSG Golden Jubilee celebrations.
