Govt officials trained on marketing & value chain in M’laya

Participants of the marketing & value chain development training held in Shillong from January 20 to 22.

 

Dimapur, January 25 (MExN): A three-day training programme on Marketing & Value Chain Development of Horticulture Crops was jointly organized by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Nagaland & Department of Horticulture, Government of Meghalaya at Directorate Seminar hall, Shillong, Meghalaya from January 20 to 22. The programme was sponsored by National Institute of Agricultural Marketing, Jaipur.

 


Dr NK Patle, Dy Commissioner (Hor), DAC&FW & Director i/c CIH, Nagaland graced the inaugural programme as Special Guest. In his address, he highlighted the programmes and activities of the institute and stressed on the importance of marketing and value chain development of horticulture crops.

 


Earlier, S Nongbet, Joint Director, Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Meghalaya welcomed the special guest, resource persons and participants in the training programme. 

 


The lectures were delivered by Dr Patle; Shivanjan Dalmia, Greenfields Meghalaya; Barishisha Mukhim, Asst Director, Department of Horticulture, Meghalaya; Prabin Das Marketing Specialist, CIH; PC Roy, Sibam Agri Marketing, Guwahati; S Lyngdoh, Entrepreneur. A field visit was also organized for the participants on January 22 at Agrozonex Farm, Umsning, Meghalaya. 

 


Altogether, 18 state government officials and 4 FPOs members of participated in the training. The programme was coordinated by Prabin Das, Marketing Specialist, CIH.
