GPPK observes ‘Balidan Diwas’ in Kohima

Kohima, August 25 (MExN): The Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima (GPPK) along with other Gorkha NGOs and Gorkha defence ex-servicemen observed 'Balidan Diwas' (Sacrificial Day) at GPPK Hall, Chandmari, Kohima on August 25.


The Nepali and Gorkha community led by GB Kamal Bahadur Chetri and GPPK president Santu Thapa, paid rich floral tributes to Gorkha freedom fighters on the portraits of Major Late Durga Malla and Late Captain Neikezakuo Kenguruse at the function.


The Gorkha community also held similar tribute ritual for those who laid their lives during the World War-II at the Kohima War Cemetery, wherein the programme was led by GPPK vice president Probhu Gurung. GPPK area representative Binod Mothey highlighted the significance of the day. Vivela Club Kohima presented welcome song while GPPK executive member Manish Lama tendered the vote of thanks.
