Kohima, May 2 (MExN): To mark the Gorkha Students’ Union Kohima (GSUK) Day, the executive members of the union along with its members visited ‘Cradle Ridge’ located in Kohima, which is under the care of Naga Mothers’ Association, on April 29.
The president of GSUK, Meghraj Lama gave a brief history of the union that is now in its 68th year and further informed that on GSUK Day, the union usually organises such kind of community service programme. He encouraged the children to study hard and never to compromise with their studies, stated a press release from GSUK. Lama also acknowledged the caretaker and the counselor of the home for doing such a commendable job for the children.
Former president of GSUK, Dhan Prasad Sharma in his exhortation also encouraged the children to do well in their studies and assured to help them in whatever capacity he can.
The union distributed gifts and sports items to the children.
The release mentioned that GSUK Day is celebrated every year as the constitution of the GSUK was approved on April 29, 2012.
