Health camp sensitizes urban community

Kohima, September 16 (MExN): Department of Health & Family Welfare along with Ward Adoption Committee for 10th Northern Angami 1 A/C conducted health camp at Government Primary School, Kenouzou Colony on September 15.  

It was stated in a press release that the camp was conducted to create awareness and sensitize the urban community for a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Ritu Thurr, CMO reminded the citizens of their responsibilities in bringing about awareness to uplift the health of the society in general and for an individual in particular. The department’s sole concern was to impart intensified awareness in regard to Measles Rubella Vaccine Campaign which will start on October 3, targeting children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years. In this regard, Focus Group Discussion activity was deliberated by Urban Consultant, Subonglemla Jamir. ICTC screening was done to 14 clients. Various Lab-test services were provided for RNTCP – 5 Sputum collected, NVBDCP – 88 blood slides, RBS/HB – 87 collected.  

Free health check-up and free distribution of medicines were provided. Altogether, 190 beneficiaries turned out to avail health services at the Health Camp.
