Heavy rains wash away Nzu Bridge

Kohima, August 8 (MExN): The Nzu Bridge connecting Rumisinyu Village under Tseminyu Sub-Division in Kohima district has been washed away by the water accumulated by heavy rains on the fateful night of July 30, 2018.

The Nzu Bridge was constructed in the year 2012 with the contribution of its three village councils under the initiatives of Phenshunyu Lowjvu Union.

Drawing the attention of the State Government towards the damage, the Phenshunyu Lowjvu Union in a press release issued by its President, Sinhilo Thong stated that Nzu Bridge served as the only lifeline of the Phenshunyu Lowjvu people and the road has been damaged by the landslide in six locations during this monsoon season.

It has caused immense hardship to the villagers and the large number of terrace fields has also been affected by the landslide, the release added.

Therefore, the Phenshunyu Lowjvu Union has requested the State Government to take stoke of the situation and extend help in every possible way.
