Vibha Galhotra Hornbill International Public Art Festival

Minister for Urban Development and Higher Education, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu formally inaugurated the Neo Monster Vibha Galhotra Hornbill International Public Art Festival at Naga Heritage Complex Kisama village on December 1. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that it is the first of its kind in the State and this international public art festival will create awareness in the field of painting, dance and music. With this kind of art festival, young talented Nagas will improve in the future, the Minister said. He also lit the inaugurating lamp at the Vibha Galhotra Hornbill international public Art Festival.

Archive exhibit at  Naga Heritage Complex

Commemorating with the 12th Annual Archive Week Celebration 2011, the department of Art & Culture is displaying the Archival Heritage at Kisama Naga Heritage Complex from December 1 to 7.  
The State Archives has been established as a branch under the Directorate of Art & Culture, Kohima, Nagaland, with a view to preserve the records. Three agencies are involved to make Archives effectively useful. The administration both in the secretariat and Directorate are the creators of records. The Archives is the only repository of these records of the state, the scholars are the users and valued beneficiaries.
Administrators and historians have long realized the importance of Archives, but general public is still often unaware of the nature and role of Archives. Therefore, to create awareness and importance of Archival treasures, this exhibition has been put up to draw attention on the importance of Archives as the Nation’s Documentary heritage, and to stress the role of Archival institutions in restructuring future development. The documents displayed in this exhibition have been chosen from the official record and the private papers.
This exhibition will be informative to the public in general and the students in particular. Public Records, Private Papers, rare books and maps are on display at the Archive Exhibit. Books on Nagaland are on sale at 10% discount at the stall.
