Hornbill Festival 2017: Art & Culture Dept gears up

The department of art and culture has set series of activities for the forthcoming Hornbill Festival of Nagaland starting from December 1 at Kisama.   The department will offer daily cultural performance at the main arena. Cultural troupes from all tribes within and outside the state will be arriving soon to showcase their colorful traditional attires with lively songs and dances. The artists’ corner at the World War II museum premises will feature display and sale of art work, demonstrative arts and live sketching, painting exhibition, art competitions, slide show etc.   The Archives’ Corner will showcase collection of historical documents from public and private records, historical and geographical maps and sale of departmental publication etc. with reading facilities for interested students, scholars and researchers.   The World War II museum will be opened to the public to create awareness on the historic events, importance of artifact, relics of the past life to the younger generation. The department extended its invitation to everyone to come and experience the colorful Naga cultural heritage from December 1 to 10.
