The Hornbill International Rock Contest (HIRC) will be ‘bigger and better’ next year, the Cheif Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio stated on Saturday. It was a reward for the peaceful audience and the Nagas’ love for music, Rio implied giving away the top prizes and visibly impressed with the huge turnout at the grand finale of HIRC at Agri Expo Dimapur on December 8.
Perfect Strangers (Bangalore) won the top prize of Rs 10 lakh, while UDX (Dimapur) and Ambush (Diphu) were declared the 1st and 2nd Runners-up of the HIRC 2018 respectively. Altogether 24 bands from all over India competed in the contest, out of which nine made the final cut to compete on December 8.
The HIRC is now part of the Hornbill International Music Festival, managed by LiveNow Events. under the aegis of the Nagaland Government and the Music Task Force (MTF), Nagaland.
