I am NOT ANNA HAZARE

•- Today there are many supporters of the anti-corruption activist, Anna Hazare who wear the Gandhian cap with the words written, I am Anna Hazare. Being an activist myself, many people questioned me, Why dont wear the cap? to which simply answer, I am NOT ANNA HAZARE!. The reason being sometimes we give in to the corrupt ways of other people in order to get our work done. I also tell them I am not ANNA HAZARE. I am CAJETAN PETER DSOUZA and have my own way of fighting my battle and weapon is the pen through which I write in the LETTERS TO THE EDITOR section exposing the wrong doing and corrupt ways of people. To a certain extent, some newspapers oblige but many overlook such letters either for the fear of being attacked or for reasons best known to them.
I am not ANNA Hazare& when I do not stand against injustice done to my fellow human beings either at their places of work or society. There are many times we have noticed less importance is given to human beings& like in the northern state of the country, where Dalits and other people are treated inhumanly and we are silent witnesses to the issue; when workers are exploited and their jobs are snatched by inhuman anti-worker policies and we are just enjoying luxuries of our home, not caring for the needs of workers and their families&
I am CAJETAN PETER DSOUZA, when I stand for their rights and write in the press exposing the wrong-doing of authorities and demanding for their rights through the power of my pen in the press. Thats the reason the press plays a vital role in publishing letters to the editor of people and also standing by them when they voice against the evils of the society. Thats the reason the press should understand the value of the letters to the editor section and provide more space so that more readers could react to the news items and get their voice heard. Many people have stopped reacting because they feel that the press is not supporting them.
We look forward for the press to understand the need of the Letters to the Editor section and provide more place and publish more letters in the press. If they feel that some letters may create problems, they can withheld the name of the letter-writer and publish without the name. If this letter gets published than I have proved, I am CAJETAN PETER DSOUZA
