IAP Nagaland observes ‘breastfeeding week’

Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): The Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) Nagaland State branch celebrated the World Breastfeeding Week under the theme “Empower Parents, Enable Breastfeeding” at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur on August 11.

The programme was chaired by Dr Apong Longchar, Joint Secretary IAP Nagaland, was attended by Pediatricians, Nurses and people from non-medical background, an IAP release informed. 

During the event, the treasurer of IAP Nagaland, Dr Akumtoshi presented on the topic “Breast Milk: The Elixir of Life.” 

The programme was organised by the state branch with the aim of highlighting the importance of breastfeeding and to share knowledge about the challenges faced by mothers while breastfeeding and how to tackle the problems faced, the release added.
