The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of Nagaland Cadres has an authorized strength of 94. Out of 94 IAS cadre strength, 66 are direct recruit posts and the remaining 28 are promotional posts from SCS and non- SCS, according to the annual administrative report 2016-17 of personnel & administrative reforms department tabled in the just concluded assembly session.
As on 28 February 2017, there are 63 IAS officers in position out of which 11 are on deputation to central/state government/public sector undertaking/study leave.
During the year 2016, four IAS officers were allotted to Nagaland Cadre. These officers are now on probation and undergoing training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorrie.
During the period under report, four State Civil Service (SCS) officers were inducted into IAS cadre, the report stated.
The report also stated that the Nagaland Civil Service has an authorized strength of 307 out of which 268 officers are in position.
