The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of Nagaland cadre has an authorized strength of 94. Out of this, 66 are direct recruit posts and the remaining 28 are promotional posts from SCS and Non- SCS.
As on February 28, 2018, there were 62 IAS officers in position of which nine are on deputation to central/ state governments/ public sector undertakings/ study leave. This was contained in the annual administrative report 2017-18 of the state’s department of personnel and administrative reforms tabled by chief minister Neiphiu Rio in the 2nd session of 13th NLA here Tuesday.
During the year 2017, four IAS officers were allotted to Nagaland cadre. These officers are now on probation and undergoing training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie
The report stated that during the period under report, two IAS officers had retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation. The report also stated that the Nagaland Civil Service has an authorized strength of 307 out of which 260 officers are in position.
Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS) has an authorized strength of 637 which consists of secretariat Assistant (Grade –III, Non-Gazetted) upto the level of Secretary.
At present only 424 officers are in position, the report stated.
