ICFAI honours outgoing NSS volunteers

Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): The NSS Unit of ICFAI University Nagaland organized a felicitation programme for the outgoing NSS volunteers on August 19. A press release issued by the Programme Officer IUN NSS Unit stated that the Chief Guest for the programme was Prof C P Alexander, Vice Chancellor of IUN. The programme was addressed by Dr Imtinungsang Jamir, PO of IUN NSS Unit by emphasizing that the objective of NSS is to provide education through community services and that, service to community is the only activity through which its objective is attained. He also highlighted the activities conducted by the IUN NSS unit.

Prof C P Alexander as Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the efforts of today’s youth and stated that they should inculcate social welfare thoughts and provide service to society without any prejudice. “NSS volunteers should further continue to work hard to ensure that everyone in our society who is needy gets every possible help from them so as to encourage and lead a life of dignity in the society,” he said. 

The programme was further attended by Registrar, Dean (Academics), faculty members and NSS volunteers, it added.
