The NJY Memorial Library in collaboration with Department of Library & Information Science, ICFAI University Nagaland (IUN) officially launched the University’s Digital Repository on November 14. 


A press release issued by ICFAI University Nagaland stated that “the first of its kind repository in Nagaland” was launched by Prof C P Alexander, Vice Chancellor, IUN. The repository is powered by Dspace open source repository software, which was developed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2002. The repository is a hybrid model and shall serve as an Institutional Repository and Digital Library. This will promote access to scientific information, garner the intellectual output of the University and archive important documents and information resources.


The launching of the repository kick starts the observation of the National Library week from November 14 to 20 by the University on the theme of “Open Access”. Various events are organised in this regard including poetry competion on “My Library”, Users Award, Outreach programme to other Library to spread awareness of “Open Access” and tutorials on “Open Access Information Resources” for academic community.
