Phek, April 1 (MExN): The office of the Phek Chief Medical Officer conducted various activities to spread awareness and reach out to maximum households on how to take precautionary measures, maintaining personal hygiene etc. and reduce the risk of coronavirus infection.

 

According to a press release from the CMO’s District Media Officer Kutolu Nakro, the CMO’s office disseminated information to the public through distribution of leaflets printed in English and local dialects and pasting of posters on COVID-19 in all the 11 colonies of Phek town.

 

As  mass gatherings in any form has been stopped, the 11 colony Presidents are being utilized to disseminate the information through distribution of IEC materials, awareness talks in their respective colonies in order to reach out to all the people at all levels, the press release informed.

 

To sensitize all age groups, videos on the Do’s and Don’ts on Covid-19 in Chokri and Khezha dialects were made by the nurses of District Hospital Phek and is being circulated through social media mediums.

 

To combat the shortage of protective gears for the health workers, doctors/staff of CMO and District Hospital Phek have come up with an innovation to make alternative form of protective gears, it said.

 

Meanwhile, the CMO also expressed gratitude to the Lotha Hoho Phek for showing their concern and support to the medical staff by donating money. The CMO also thanked the respective colony youths for their valuable service by giving their full support in creating awareness to the community.
