The 48th National Convention “Indian Evangelical Mission” began on a vibrant note this evening in Dimapur. The Convention was held at the venue of host Church, Dimapur Ao Baptists Church (DABA). Extending invitation to a total of 900 delegates, 600 from outside Nagaland, 100 from NBCC Affiliated Associations and 100 from Nagaland IEM supporters, the four day event is being held under the theme “Fullness In Christ (COL 1: 19)”.

The opening ceremony was led by DABA Worship team followed by a presentation by students of Discipleship Bible College, Dimapur. The Convention Choir from Discipleship Bible College also performed a special song. The Inaugural ceremony was chaired by Rev. I. Wati, Associate pastor DABA. Bro. Jenny Christopher, HoD Church Ministries welcomed all the delegates and wished them well for the next three days.

Rev. Dr. N. Tzudir, Pastor DABA expressed joy and honour on behalf of the DABA to be hosting the 48th National Convention. Welcoming the delegates from diverse cultures and Churches, he stated, “It is a joy for us to have you in our homes and Church. Let us forget about our difference in culture and background and learn from one another, become one in Christ. I also hope and pray for a wonderful and enriching experience for the mission of God.”

Delivering the key note address was Bishop Rt Rev Dr Samanth Roy, Chairman of IEM and former moderator of CNI who basing on the theme stated that in order to talk about fullness, we need to start from emptiness. The Bishop added, “I’m sure you have all experienced that void your life which has made you restless at least once.” He highlighted the point that it is important to see what emptiness can do to our lives. Citing his personal experience and life testimony, he concluded that when there is emptiness in your life, it takes away your happiness, joy and peace. Even with his enriching life as a Bishop, he said that he had once felt a big emptiness in his personal life, because in his enthusiasm to serve God and others, he had failed to grow in his spiritual life. “I felt stagnant and that I wasn’t growing. It was just a wretched feeling. Then, I asked God to fill me with newness and freshness.”

“This world is full of dark places, and Jesus Christ is willing to give us fullness, to cover the void in us. Let us work for the Glory of God with all our hearts. Therefore, leaving our denominations and differences behind and come together in Christian Unity. The whole world should become one” he encouraged the delegates.
