Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): The Dimapur police personnel seized a consignment of about 150 cases of IMFL from a truck bearing R/No NL 01D9138 on February 27, which was intercepted, from NRL Petrol Pump area on
NH 29.
The Additional Superintendent of Police, Dimapur in a press note has informed that the driver and the co-driver of the truck were arrested and handed over to the East Police Station, Dimapur and a case has been registered against them.
The accused were identified as Raja Basumatary, 22 years, S/o Lohit Basumatary from Khatkatti, Assam and Krishna Rai, 32 years, S/o Bali Rai from Sahebganj Bihar.
The Note also mentioned that the troops of 24 Assam Rifles while conducting MVCP at Zion Hospital area, Dimapur on February 28 recovered about 110 kgs of contraband ganja from a black Bolero. The occupants of the vehicle were handed over to the East Police Station.
The accused were identified as one Kedulhi Wezah, 40 years from Jessami, Ukhrul, Thuwelhi Wezah, 19 years from Jessami, Ukhrul and a minor.
