IMFL seized from night bus in Mkg

Morung Express News Mokochung | September 25   The 44 Assam Rifles during a surprise checking on September 25 recovered 50 cases and 10 bottles of illicit liquor from Alichen Travels, a daily night super bus that plies between Mokokchung and Dimapur.   The bus was intercepted at Mongsenbai Ward, below the Assam Rifles camp while returning after dropping off passengers. The driver of the vehicle, identified as one Akangjungshi of Longkong village was arrested. The vehicle, along with the confiscated items was later forwarded to Mokokchung P.S.-II and a case has been registered under section 41 of the NLTP Act.   While talking over the phone with the CO 44 Assam Rifles, it was learnt that the AR had inside sources about the bus carrying liquor on regular basis and therefore carried out the surprise check.   It is surprising to note that the passenger bus carrying illegal IMFL liquor could pass through Nagaland gate unnoticed and was caught only in Mokokchung by the Assam Rifles.
