Imkong Jamir is Yoddha featherweight champion

Kohima, April 29 (MExN): Imkong Jamir was the sole Naga to win in featherweight (62 to 66kg) category at the grand finale of the Yoddha Fighting Championship (YFC) 2017 held at the IG Stadium, Kohima on April 29. Jamir, who hails from Kangtsüng village, knocked-out Shantanu Pujari in what was a brief bout.   Four Naga fighters featured in the grand finale. The other Naga fighters were Victor Angami (28) in welterweight category (71 to 77 kg), Amung Konyak (23) in lightweight category (67 to 70 kg), and Ketholetuo Nagi (23) in strawweight below 52 kg.   Victor lost to Suyash Yadav. Sunny Khatri beat Ketholetuo Nagi in the strawweight final, while Rudransh Azad triumphed over Amung Konyak in lightweight.   Other winners were Mandeep Aggarwal, who defeated Satya Behuria in flyweight, while Manthan Rane beat Basavesh in bantamweight.   The championship was organised by Wise Guy Entertainment in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports.
