Immanuel College honours students

Dimapur, June 14 (MExN): Immanuel College, Dimapur organized a felicitation programme for the subject topper, meritorious students, and graduates 2018 of the college on June 14 at the college auditorium.  

Award with citation was presented to Kongtung Chingdang Phom, Subject Topper in Zoology (Honours). He was also honoured with a cash award by the College Welfare, informed a press release from Akutu Poireng, Media Cell convener, Immanuel College.  

Meanwhile, lecturers of the subject (Zoology) were given cash reward by the Management.  

Dr. A Loso Chalai, Chairman, Governing Body in his exhortation congratulated the topper as well as the graduate students for their success. He emphasized on the importance of keeping the society intact with love, compassion, and universal brotherhood. Dr. Chalai further encouraged the students to share the acquired knowledge with the society and walk in the fear of God.  

Speeches on behalf of the lecturers were presented by Shumbenthung Odyuo, Asst Prof., Department of Zoology and Abeni Mozhui, Asst Prof., Department of Education.  

Shumbenthung encouraged the students to always begin their life with obedience, discipline and hard work. He reminded them how the certificate is a means to determine what one will become and that true success comes in the contentment of one's service.  

Abeni Mozhui meanwhile advised the students not to blemish their integrity with selfish desires.  

Kongtung Chingdang Phom and Ato Tzudir presented speeches on behalf of the students. They thanked the Management for organising the programme, the lecturers for helping and moulding the students, parents for always supporting them and God for guiding their way, according to the release.  

They also dwelled on the importance of determination, hard work, discipline and the choice one makes. One’s choice should not be the result of manipulation from others; it should come from within, they added. The two also emphasized on letting God control our life not the circumstances and situations or the people around us.  

Kaboto Kibami, general secretary presented a speech on behalf of the students’ council. Taking the examples of the seniors, he urged the juniors to learn from them and to take the seniors as a source of inspiration.
