DIMAPUR, JULY 18 (MExN): The Jotsoma Village Council (JVC) has appealed to the concerned authority to improve the deplorable condition of roads in Jotsoma area, especially since with the onset of monsoon, heavy rainfall has caused landslides affecting road transport in NH 29.
A press note from the JVC informed that the Jotsoma bye-pass road and the approach road at Jotsoma from Science College junction to Laike road junction was maintained and repaired by the people of Jotsoma themselves with no help from the state government up to this day.
“Various organisations, groups and societies of Jotsoma voluntarily worked with their own excavators and trucks spending in terms of lakhs in maintaining the roads for the welfare and interest of all,” it added.
Despite the efforts, the JVC stated that whenever heavy traffic is allowed to ply through, all the approach roads are severely damaged and becomes irreparable.
The JVC meanwhile cautioned the vehicles plying through the village area to drive slow as reckless driving may create a havoc in the locality.
