Independence Cup Football Tournament underway in Senapati

‘Independence Cup Football Tournament’ kickstarted today at Katomei Village Ground in Tahamzam (Senapati). The tournament is being organized by the United Naga Council (UNC) as part of the commemoration programme of the 73rd Anniversary of the declaration of ‘Naga Independence Day.’ The event will culminate on August 14. The tournament was graced by S Kho John, president of the UNC.

On August 14, to commemorate the day, the flag hoisting of the ‘Naga national flag’ will be ‘solemnly observed at 9:00 am at Katomei village.

Neingulo Krome, secretary general of the Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) will grace the flag hoisting ‘session’ as special guest. The event is being held under the theme, ‘One goal, one destiny.’

There will be ‘silent prayer in remembrance of the Naga martyrs.' Naga artists will also perform during the event on August 14.
