BJP on ENPO demand over separate state

Dimapur, January 14 (MExN): The Bharitiya Janata Party (BJP) has stated that the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation’s (ENPO) demand for a separate state is “a sensitive and brain chilling”, not only for the government but also “it is a matter of concern for all”.
In a press note issued by its vice president K Medom Angami stated: “...after 48 years of statehood, Nagaland is still not free from social inequality and tribe differences in the society.” It also stated that it has been observing ENPO in the recent development is a worrisome issue and the party has affirmed to defuse the issue through means of negotiation and “earnest means”.  ENPO’s, demand for a separate state in order to achieve social justice in the society in general and in political, has to be viewed from “politically none inclusive and imbalance policy towards those areas has ignited into extreme resentments”.
In relation to it, the BJP has suggested that the NPF led government must uplift the weaker sections like giving greater opportunity by ensuring reservation policy and also maintain equal development. Stating that if these were fulfilled the issue of separate state would not be raised. The government’s unsure policy has encouraged ENPO to take drastic steps. Stating that unless DAN Government understands the issue, the situation may turn from “bad to worst”. The BPJ has also suggested that the political parties and the NGOs should hold a talk which could give way for a positive settlement to the issue.
“Government may come and go but political parties of any color in the government have no rights to suppress developments and discriminate the innocent general public in the context of party color or identity,” it stated in the note.
It also mentioned that the BJP Nagaland unit had attended the BJP National executive meeting held at Guwahati. The meeting was first of its kind in the northeast region. The Nagaland team was led by its president M Chuba Ao accompanied by party state general secretary Yambos Murry, state secretary Sunder Jain, some members from its office bearers, ‘morchas’ leaders and some district party workers. The BJP, Nagaland president in the meeting deliberated the important developmental projects for inclusion in the party programme especially for Nagaland.
