As the Nagaland Chief Minister presented the State Budget in the NLA today, he stated that the 2020-21 budget would focus on taking up innovative steps in various sectors to meet the changing times and new challenges, with a focus on the youth.  He also highlighted the various achievements of the state and the initiatives being taken up by the government. The CM added that the 2020-21 budget initiatives would focus on improving productivity in the State.  


•    Best performing state among small States in Law & Order for 2019 by the India Today Group 
•    Overseas Travel Mart awarded Nagaland as the ‘Most Promising New Destination’ 
•    First among NE and Hill category States in State Services Portal Assessment 2019 
•    State Government launched fashion brand ‘Mongken’ 
•    IG Stadium provided with astro-turf, floodlights and world-class player facilities


•    Y&RS Dept’s ‘Career Guidance and Employability Skills Development Program 
•    Astro turfs to be set up at Chümoukedima Police Complex & Loyem Memorial Ground Tuensang
•    Nagaland Olympic Association to promote sports and games as gainful professional careers
•    TAFMA Open Houses and Nagaland Choir Olympics to engage local musicians
•    ThinkFests being organized to enable local artists to interact with renowned resource persons
•    TAFMA partnerships with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR)
•    Government to promote rubber growers by providing them rollers
•    DoSE initiatives to revive traditional values and improve quality of learning
•    Chief Minister’s Meritorious Students Fellowship Programme for 50 meritorious students
•    Music and belt wrestling introduced in 100 Schools 
•    Sanction to set up a Professional College of Engineering at Tsurangsa
•    State Government MoU with AirBnb to promote home stays and experiential tourism
•    Approval for setting up a Regional Emergency Management Training Institute and Regional Response Centre
•    DUDA actively working to upgrade skills and marketing linkages for farmers, entrepreneurs & unemployed youth .
