Integrated Farm School inaugurated

  Longleng, December 3 (MExN): ATMA Sakshi block of Longleng district conducted a series of training and programs. On December 3, an Integrated Farm School was inaugurated at Auching village, Sakshi block under ATMA Longleng. The school was set up to impart to the people on the benefit of incorporating various types of farming for improvement and utilization of limited resources in the best way possible.   A demonstration on “Vermi Composting” and “Nursery Bed Preparation” was also conducted with Athai AFA from Agriculture department, Longleng, as the resource person to sensitize people of the benefits of using vermi composts as manure for growing plants. Demonstrations were also given on “Semi-intensive Piggery Housing” by Dr Moisen BTM Sakshi block, ATMA Longleng to introduce to people the concept of semi-intensive rearing of pigs where a part of the pig shed can be left uncovered for health benefits of animals.   A ‘Mobilization of Farmers Group’ was also carried out with an aim to encourage and make the people actively take up agricultural farming practices as an economic source of income and to upgrade existing farming methods for better yields.
