Inter Dept Indoor Games tourney starts

Zunheboto, July 12 (DIPR): The inaugural function of Inter Departmental Indoor Games tournament started on July 12 with Minister for Roads & Bridges Nagaland, G. Kaito Aye as the chief guest. The programme was held at Badminton Auditorium Zunheboto, organized by the District Sports Council Zunheboto.Kaito while addressing the gathering thanked the District Sports Council Zunheboto for giving him an opportunity to be a part of the tournament. He expressed happiness that this tournament is a good platform where all sections of people could come together and promote sports activities as well as create consciousness for fitness. He further encouraged the organizers to promote sports activities with larger interests. He also said that the government is ready to promote any individual or team who excel in any kind of sports.
In conclusion, he assured the Sports Council Zunheboto that the appraisal submitted regarding completion of the auditorium would be looked into. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, T. Kiheto Sema while delivering the welcome speech thanked the Chief Guest G. Kaito Aye for paying concern and said that his presence has given a boost to the tournament and the people. He also thanked the entire departments under Zunheboto for coming equipped with players in all the disciplines. This was followed by Administration of Oath by Vikaho Jimo, DSCZ member, the exhibition match was played between the Chief Guest Team from Kohima and District Sports Council team Zunheboto wherein the Chief Guest team won the match. The programme was chaired by Zhekugha Assumi Vice Chairman DSCZ.
