Kohima, September 20 (MExN): National Mathematics Day 2018 was observed at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (KSCJ) on September 15 on the occasion of the College Foundation Day. Eight institutions from Kohima participated in the inter-school competitions held during the day.
It was informed in a press release that the event was organised by the Department of Mathematics KSCJ and sponsored by Nagaland Science & Technology Council (NASTEC) under National Council for Science & Technology Communication (NCSTC) programme.
The quiz competition was won by Vineivonuo Khawakhrie and Vikuokhono Lhousa of Mezhür Hr Sec School, Kohima. In Project Competition, the first position was bag by Tonpha Luklem and Nongoto Lcho of Model Hr Sec School, Kohima. In Mathematics Teaching Competition, the first position went to Vetsuno Lohe from C. D. King Hr Sec School, Jotsoma. The daylong event was inaugurated by Tokheni Sema, Vice Principal, KSCJ and Dr S N Pandey, HOD, Department of Mathematics, KSCJ gave the keynote address.
