IPPI programme targeting 3.14 lakh children begins in Manipur

Manipur Health and Family Welfare department is targeting to cover about 3.14 lakh children between the ages of 0-5 years by pulse polio immunization programme which was launched on Sunday.

 


The first Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme for the year 2020 was simultaneously launched across the 16 districts of the state. The programme will be lasted till January 21.

 


In Imphal, the programme was launched along with a media sensitisation programme at state Family Welfare office.
Speaking at the media sensitization programme, Director of Health and Family Welfare department, Dr K Rajo informed that at a total of 3,205 polio booths across the state 12,820 health workers will administer the vaccine to the children.

 


All the polio booths set up in localities across the state will administer the oral polio vaccine to the children under the age of 5 years till January 21, Dr K Rajo said.
