IRCS Nagaland stages musical evening

Kohima | August 12 : A host of State Ministers, Parliamentary secretaries, MLAs and bureaucrats thronged the State Academy hall this evening to witness a musical evening in commemoration of the Geneva Convention. The programme was organized by the Indian Red Cross Society, Nagaland State Branch. Governor Nikhil Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest while Mr. Francouis Stamm, Head of Regional Delegation, International Committee of the Red Cross, New Delhi was the guest of honor. The chief guest in his speech lauded the musical talent of the state while also thanking Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo Neinu for organizing such a grand event.
Pointing to the unique quality of ‘compassion’ which distinguishes the Red Cross, the Governor stated that this spirit of compassion which overwrites the otherwise violent history of the State should be emulated by one and all. Also adding that the ICRC was doing a wonderful job even globally, the Governor said that the state looks up to it and would be proud to work with the organization in the coming days. The evening also witnessed the release of Kevekha Kevin Zehol’s album titled ‘Mapo Evie’ by the chief guest.
