JAF to begin agitation from November 20

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 17 (MExN): The Joint Associations Forum (JAF) comprising of several government service associations has informed that it would launch a phase wise democratic agitation beginning November 20 over non implementation of higher pay level as per ROP Pay Anomalies Committee (PAC) recommendation.

It may be noted that the JAF comprises of the Nagaland Directorate Ministerial Service Association (NDMSA), All Nagaland District Ministerial Service Association (ANDMSA), Trained Nurses Association of India-Nagaland Branch (TNAI), and the Prison Service Association Nagaland.

A press release from the JAF Convener, M Renthungo Tungoe and Co-convener, V Peter Rutsa informed that the forum had submitted a 15 day ultimatum to the government on October 30, but the latter had failed to respond.

The JAF informed that the first phase agitation would include the wearing of black badges starting November 20, followed by intensification of the agitation if the demands are not fulfilled in due course of time.

It directed all constituent members to be prepared for the proposed agitation. The JAF also directed all constituent associations to form action committees to monitor and curb any untoward incident during the democratic form of agitation.
In a separate letter, the JAF sought support from the HODs, DDOs, and Controlling Officers.

Pointing out the recommendations of the PAC, the JAF stated that “it is only natural that every government servant, be it lower or upper class, desires for certain benefits during their service period in the form of promotion, higher perks or other beneficial schemes.”

“The current issue relates to pay level enhancement of specific categories of employees under the four associations which according to us deserves better perks and allowances commensurate their duties and responsibilities,” it added.
As such, the JAF asked the officers to support and understand their cause.

“Under the circumstances it is foreseen that your authority over the said members may have to be compromised at times for the benefit of achieving our goal and we beg to make an apology for such instances if there be any,” it said in the letter to the concerned officers.
