Jericho-II Phek 2nd colony day held

Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): The Jericho-II Colony, Phek town held its ‘2nd Colony Day’ on January 11, 2011 at the Colony Panchayat Hall with Seyieveto Lohe (finance secretary C.Y.F) as chief guest. A press note informed that the program was chaired by Chikhopa Soho while, Mudovoyi pronounced the opening prayer followed by a welcome song from Zavekho and friends. Neilo Koza delivered the general secretary report while Zachihu (head G.B) exhorted the gathering to up-lift the colony though unity and by the fear of the Lord. The chief guest in his speech appreciated the observance of ‘Colony Day’ as it sets a very good example of harmony among the colony. He then asked to observe the day with a meaning, where one might repent and celebrate it with both heart and soul.
The note also mentioned that highlights of the day’s program included competition of games such as volleyball (men and women), tug of war, indigenous folk songs and distribution of awards to both the eldest man and woman of the colony, meritorious students and winners of the competitions. It may also be mentioned that Kuvepoyi Lohe donated “Lt. Vebuto Lohe Memorial trophy” for volleyball (men) champion, Vekhoneyi Venuh sponsored award for  “Meritorious students” while Imtitemjen, DAO Phek , Khrotso, SDO (I&FC)Phek, Veniepa, Vevocho and Meselhi sponsored for further awards. The chief guest was accompanied by Khrusa, additional S.P Phek, Vekhoyi, EAC Phek and Khrotso SDO I & FC Phek, Avi Movi, ex-president PTCSU and Vesavo.
