Jharia most polluted city in India, Dmp 64th, Khm 111th 

New Delhi, January 21 (MExN): Dimapur ranked as the 64th most polluted among 287 cities or towns in India while Kohima stood at 111, according to a report released by Greenpeace India on Tuesday. Jharia in Jharkhand meanwhile continued to be the most polluted city in India followed by Dhanbad (also in Jharkhand) in second, according to the report based on analysis of PM10 data from 287 cities across the country. The report titled, ‘Airpocalypse IV: Assessment of Air Pollution in Indian Cities & National Air Monitoring Programme (NAMP),’ informed that PM10 concentration in Dimapur improved marginally from 138 in 2017 to 135 in 2018. However, it was still above the danger level.  Air quality in Kohima also improved marginally from 114 in 2017 to 105 in 2018. Lunglei in Mizoram was the least polluted followed by Meghalaya's Dowki, according to the report. Six of the top-10 polluted cities are in Uttar Pradesh - Noida, Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Allahabad, Moradabad and Firozabad, PTI added.
