Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): Joint Investigation Team headed by Dr. RPS Deswal, Additional Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, representatives from ICAR, Jharnapani, CIH Medziphema, officials from Horticulture Department and Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency concluded successfully.
Starting as day one, the team visited the Mushroom Development Centre and Nursery Block at State Horticulture Nursery, Dimapur district and proceeded to Bade Village, Dhansiripar Block Dimapur for vegetable cultivation under RKVY project and to the Bamboo Research Centre.
On day two, the team visited bamboo projects at Phusito village and Jalukie B; pineapple project at Mhainamtsi village; Mango, litchi and pack house at New Peren; Cashewnut plantations and water harvesting structure at Heningkunglwa under Peren district. On the way, the team also visited Pineapple project mulched with polythene at Molvom Village, Dimapur.
Later, on day three, the team headed to Phek district and inspected large cardamom nursery and plantations at Kami village. The team also visited the Model Floriculture Centre and vegetable and fruit Cold Storage at Horticulture Research Farm (HRF), Pfutsero and suggested to establish a Hi-tech Nursery at HRF. The team also visited apple and plum orchard nearby.
A press release stated that the team was satisfied with the activities carried out by the Horticulture Department and the Bamboo Development Agency.
