Popular K-Pop artiste Dabit is all geared up to headline ‘Kaleidoscope 2019’ fest on November 15 (concluding day) at Assembly of God Higher Secondary School (AGHSS), Dimapur.
David Kim, aka Kim Jung Wook in Korean, landed in Dimapur this afternoon, “barely alive,” he laughed, during an interaction with the media at a press conference at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur.
For the 29-year old Indie jazz artiste, Nagaland appears “very familiar.” How? Because, according to Dabit, the people that introduced him to India were all from Nagaland. The young artiste also said the familiarity in appearance has brought him closer to the people of Nagaland, “creating a bond as brothers and sisters.”
A big-time foodie, Dabit, who continued to talk about food for most of the interaction, said he has his mind set to gorge on everything that is Naga cuisine.
The singer songwriter also described his impression of Nagaland and the North East states, which according to him, are quite different from other cities of India with “more wide open spaces and more clean and peaceful.”
The artiste will be performing his originals plus English and Hindi songs for the fans.
In high spirits to be able to visit this side of the country, Manager Naureen Gana (Reen) said it doesn’t matter whether the fan base is huge or just small, “they are still fans and we would go where the fans are, instead of them always coming to us.”
“We would have stayed a little longer, had there been more flight services,” Reen added.
The event will also be an opportunity to share one’s cultural aspects, said Dabit while inviting all to witness him perform.
A fan meet has been scheduled at 3:00 pm while the concert will begin at 5:00 pm with opening acts by students at the school premise. Dabit will take the stage at 6:00 pm.
The fan meet tickets will be available for an amount of Rs 1000 (inclusive of the concert) which will be limited (with a capacity of 100-200) as the event is a school fest, informed the organizers.
It may be mentioned that Dabit was born and raised in Ohio, USA, before moving to Seoul, South Korea to pursue his dream as a singer songwriter.
He also has his educational background from the Berklee College of Music and is also an actor, MC, Radio DJ, and VJ.
Under Koffee Dream Management (KDM), Dabit debuted on his birthday, December 5, 2013. His fan club is called “Dalbit” which means "moonlight."
‘Kaleidoscope 2019’ is an annual ‘School Fest’ of AGHSS, Dimapur while the event is managed by Musik-A.
