Dimapur, December 9 (MExN): The Kuhuboto-Aghunaqa-Khaghaboto (KAK) Union celebrated its silver jubilee at Kuhuboto Town on December 9 with MLA Jacob Zhimomi as the chief guest.
Addressing a gathering of KAK members, GBs, and leaders of the three areas, Jacob congratulated the union and paid respect to those who 25 years ago started the union that has worked for the welfare of the people in various capacities.
Jubilee, he said, was a time to retrospect and renew the commitment for which the union came into being and to strive for the betterment of the people without any bias.
Maintaining that the society needs a drastic change, he said it is the responsibility of all individuals to bring about a change. He called upon the gathering to take the development of society as priority and to work collectively by being supportive to one another.
Jacob further urged the people to seriously ponder on NBCC’s initiative for Clean Election and resolve to adhere to the pledge of the church council so as to pave way for a changed society.
Founder members of KAK – Dr. Nihoto P Chishi, Head GB of Nihoto village and Political advisor KAK Union and Dr. LK Achumi, Head GB of Luhevi village and Legal advisor KAK Union – delivered short speeches. Outgoing KAK Union president Shiwoto Yepthomi also spoke on the occasion.
Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, Executive Secretary, WSBAK offered dedicatory prayer for jubilee monolith, while Rev. Nikheto Kiho, Mission Promoter, WSBAK released the jubilee souvenir and prayed for the office bearers and members of the union.
Former Chief Minister of Nagaland KL Chishi also attended the function.
A new team of the union office bearers led by Apeto Assumi, Head GB Khutovi village as president was also inducted.
