KDLSA officials visit district jail

Kohima, January 25 (MExN): Officials of Kohima District Legal Services Authority (KDLSA) visited Kohima district jail on January 23.  

They also had an Under Trial Prisoner’s (UTP) Review meeting with Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rajesh Soudararajan and SDPO South.  

It was learnt that there are a total of 66 inmates in the district jail, including 48 UTPs (47 male and 1 female), 1 male convict under National Security Act (NSA), and 6 Simple Imprisonment (all males), said a press release received here.  

The KDLSA members had an interaction with the UTPs and paid a round of visit with the jail officers and also visited Legal Service Clinic set up in the jail.  

The visiting team comprised of Nino Iralu, Member Secretary NSLSA and Special Judge TDP Vigilance Commission, Y Imchen, Chairman KDLSA and District and Session Judge, Victo Sema, Secretary KDLSA and Chief Judicial Magistrate and Panel Lawyers.
