Kekhriezo Nagi wins WADSA Wrestling Meet

The top four wrestlers of 46th WADSA wrestling meet.
  Kohima, January 15 (MExN): Kekhriezo Nagi of Sechü Zubza emerged as the champion of the 46th Western Angami ‘D’ Sports Association (WADSA) wrestling meet held at Kiruphema Local Ground, Peducha village on January 12.   Kekhriezo lifted the title following his victory against former WADSA champ Neisakuolie Nipu in the final.   On his way to lifting the title, the new champion earlier defeated reigning WADSA champ Petekuolie Nipu in the semis. Petekuolie, who is also a former champion of the Western Angami region, bagged the third position, while Keneivituo Nagi was placed fourth. It may be mentioned that all the top four wrestlers represented Sechü Zubza Youth Organisation.   The champion fetched a cash award of Rs. 25,000 while the runner-up received Rs. 20,000. The third and fourth position winners received Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 10,000 respectively.   Meanwhile, a total of 18 wrestlers have been selected to represent WADSA at the forthcoming WASA meet scheduled to be held from February 5 to 6 at Kohima Local Ground.   The selected wrestlers are Kekhriezo Nagi, Neisakuolie Nipu, Petekuolie Nipu, Keneivituo Nagi, Mhasisietuo Kitshü, Neimeyietuo Zhünyü, Megotsolie Neikha, Rokosezo Hozoyie, Seketoukho Nipu, Kevisezo Lhousa, Kikruneikho Suokhrie, Mhasilhoukho Naprantsu, Menuoselie Hojha, Menuolhoulie Meyatsu, Keneisar Zenyü-u, Seyielezo Sechü, Kedizelhou Zhünyü and Neilasielie Vielie.   Earlier on the day, the inaugural function was graced by Dr. Er. Vikuotuolie Suohu as the chief guest, while Megoneizo Sirie, president, NPF Kohima Division was the guest of honour for the closing function.
