Medziphema, October 4 (MExN): Khaibung ‘A’ and MTYO ‘A’ today entered the semifinals of the Medziphema Area Football Association (MAFA) Football Tournament.
Khaibung 'A' eased past Khaibung 'B' 4-0 in the third quarterfinal played today at the Medziphema Local Ground. Lamkhongam netted twice in quick succession scoring in the 26th and 29th minutes with Lalminthang and Lengoulal scoring a goal apiece in the 58th and 60th minutes respectively to complete the rout.
In the final quarterfinal match, Medziphema Town Youth Organization (MTYO) 'A' thrashed Molvom 'A'. MTYO’s Kikrukhrielie, wearing Jersey No.7, was the star of the day as he went on to score 7 goals – the highest in a single match ever since the tournament got underway.
Mesevito Terhuja opened the scoring early on with a goal just four minutes after kick-off. Letminlal and Lalminlun scored in the 24th and 54th minutes. The solitary goal for Molvom 'A' came from Thangouhao who scored in the 56th minute.
