King Khan goes international in ‘Don 2’

After ruling over millions of hearts in the nation, the Baadshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan, who has been voted as the ‘Asian Hero’ by Time Magazine, is now looking forward to play his cards right to win the affection of global audiences as well.
According to latest tabloid hearsay, Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming flick ‘Don 2—The Chase Continues’ starring King Khan as an European mobster, will not only be hitting the silver screen in India, this year, but will also have a full-blown international adaptation of it for the global market, with condensed drama and no songs at all.
The forthcoming motion picture ‘Don 2-The Chase Continues’ is an action-filled sequel of the SRK starrer ‘Don: The Chase Begins Again’, which was a runaway success at the box-office, in 2006.
Talking about SRK’s character in the film, a source said, "While in the first part, Don wanted to take over the crime syndicate in India, in the sequel, Don wants to capture the entire European market. "Shah Rukh’s character is no longer an Indian crimelord wanted in 11 countries. He is portrayed as a European gangster, replete with all the trappings of an international kingpin.”
It’s also learnt that, filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and lead actor Shah Rukh did a careful research on the everyday lives of numerous international gangsters, in order to give a realistic touch to the character of baadshah Khan, who portrays himself as an intercontinental thug in the film. A source said, “It was one thing for Shah Rukh to portray the Indian don wanted in 11 countries. In ‘Don 2′, his character wanted to rule Europe. Shah Rukh’s clothes, cars, girls, gadgets, body language and perfume had to convey a global aura.”
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the film ‘Don 2—The Chase Continues’ has been made on a staggering budget, which has surpassed the budgets of all other Bollywood films made on global transgression.
Buzz has it that, while shooting for a car chase sequence in Berlin, SRK who was racing the car with the female protagonist Priyanka Chopra seated beside him, unluckily lost control over the car and slammed into a camera nearby, ruining it totally.
A source close to the unit said, “Shah Rukh and Priyanka’s body double were in the car, when it lost control and rammed into the camera itself, destroying it completely!
"No one was injured although the camera which costs a few lakhs was a major loss. Shah Rukh, immediately got out of the car and apologized to all, including director Farhan Akhtar. He also volunteered to pay for the losses. He also thanked God that nobody was injured. Farhan called for a break to let everyone’s nerves settle down before resuming shooting.”
Seems like the tattoo mania is fueling up day by day, as after Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan, who had tattooed their lovers’ name and Akshay Kumar and Arjun Rampal, who had imprinted their kid’s names, it’s now Shahrukh Khan who has stamped a ‘D’ on his right arm. Nevertheless, whether the letter ‘D’ relates to a loved one or is it for the promotion of his upcoming flick ‘Don 2-The Chase Continues’, still remains a mystery.
Both the films, ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Don 2,’ starring SRK in the lead role, are scheduled for a global release in December, this year.
