Kiphire observes National Panchayat Day

Morung Express News Kiphire | April 19   The Department of Rural Department Kiphire celebrated National Panchayat Day and 125th birth anniversary of Dr B.R Ambedkar on April 19. Major Saiyam Dutt Company Commander 46 AR Alpha Company was chief guest at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner and it was attended by NGOs civil societies and officers.   Speaking at the occasion, Major Saiyam Dutt said that Dr B.R Ambedkar devoted his life fighting for the cause of the downtrodden and social backward classes. The Major said that education, dedication and hard work were the three pillars for Dr B.R Ambedkar and during his life time he gave his best to uplift the weaker section of the society.

  Dr Ketoukhhrie, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science ZPC spoke on the life of Dr B.R Ambedkar and highlighted the significance of the April 24   Razukhru Vasa, Program officer DRDA Kiphire who also spoke on MGNREGA, IAY, NRLM disclose that in Kiphire 11 villages has identified as cardamom village and 152 SHG has also been constituted where 120 SHG got 15,000 each 10 SHG receive 50,000 from NSCB, 1 SHG receive 2,50,000 from SBI and 8 BLO receive 36,56,000 from banks. He also said that MGNREGA which is the biggest employment programme in the country is suppose to give 100 man days wages to the citizens but the centre has fixed 55.40 days for IPPE and 35.25 under non IPPE.   Er Subongyanger EE PHED who spoke on the Swaach Bharat mission said that in 2016-17 the Department is working hard to make Kiphire as the 6th district to be open defecation free. He also added that solid waste management project is coming up at Tethuyo which is the first of its kind in the district.   Yangsemong supervisor from Social Security Department also spoke on the activities that the Department is taking up in the district. Success story on MGNERGA was shared by K. Langshen BDO Longmatra while Azenuo Pienyu administered the oath and chaired the programme. T. Lankonsen Tsanglao SDO (C) proposed vote of thanks.
