Minister for Soil and Water Conservation, Geology & Mining, V Kashiho Sangtam, who is also the chairman of Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), has urged officers posted in Kiphire to come up with innovative ideas and suggestions for development which are feasible.
He was speaking at the monthly meeting of Kiphire DPDB held on May 8 at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall here.
Stating that DPDB is an important decision-making body for overseeing development in the district, the minister further stressed that it is paramount for DPDB members to participate in the meetings.
Some of the agendas discussed at the meeting were setting up of Police outpost and creation of posts at Seyochung, Khongsa, Kiusam and Sitimi, opening of District Soil Office in Seyochung Town, Town Council for Seyochung Town.
Superintendent of Police Kiphire, Imnalensa (IPS) highlighted the need to have police outpost in various important locations as per the proposal in order to help and support administration and maintain law and order.
While giving a brief report about implementation of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, ADC Kumar Ramnikant (IAS) informed that the programme was a convergence of various schemes for which 41 villages from Kiphire were selected.
Basic department report was also given by District Evaluation Office, R&B, Medical department, Social Welfare department, Education department, and NST.
The meeting also deliberated on having separate RD block for Amahator and Seyochung, while proposal for setting up of Sub-Center at Langzanger village was kept for next DPDB meeting.
