Kiphire: Students’ bodies urge to retain SBI manager

Kiphire, October 27 (MExN): Pointing out the hardships the citizens of the district will face if the present Branch Manager of State Bank of India (SBI), the only functioning bank in Kiphire, is transferred without a reliever, four students’ bodies in Kiphire have appealed to retain the present BM in larger public interest.

In a press release, Amahator Range Students’ Union (ARSU), Longmatra Area Students’ Union (LASU), Kiphire Area Students’ Union (KASU), and Singti Area Students’ Union (SASU) stated that Kiphire being located in a far flung area is in need of uninterrupted service of SBI, the only functioning bank in Kiphire.

However, the quality service provided by the bank will be hampered in the event of the present BM getting transferred without a reliever, it noted. The students’ bodies said they were well aware of the transfer policy and service rules, but were apprehensive due to past precedent.

In the event of the present BM getting transferred without a reliever, the students’ bodies stated, “it was evident denizens of Kiphire would face untold hardship.”

Therefore, they implored upon the higher ups of SBI to be considerate towards the plight of Kiphire district people.
