Kohima College holds farewell prog for Ameü Kire

Kohima, April 1 (MExN): In celebration of completing 35 years of service, Kohima College, on March 31, held a farewell progamme for Ameü Kire, Associate Professor & HoD, Department of Education, Kohima College.  

Ameü Kire in her farewell speech thanked God for His blessings and shared fond memories of the college including struggles faced during the early years. She urged teachers to be sincere towards the teaching profession, which is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling professions.  

Dr. Watijungshi, Principal, Keneilesa, Associate Professor & KCTA President, Dr. Khing, Associate Professor, Education Department and other staff gave speeches during the programme.  

The programme was chaired by Moanungla Kevichusa, HoD, Department of English, while invocation prayer was pronounced by Vezholu, Asst. Professor. A special song was presented by the entire Faculty fraternity.  

Media Cell, Kohima College in a press release mentioned that the retiring faculty, Prof. Ameü Kire was given the Meritorious Award in recognition of her contribution towards quality higher education by the Dept. of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, in 2012.
